NEW STUDIO-GALLERY OPENS IN YORK
Corner Gallery is a new studio gallery in the vibrant Bishopthorpe Road area.
Run by Veronica Ongaro and Andres Jaroslavsky, Corner gallery operates as a
display space and as an open studio where you can drop in for a chat with the
artists as they work on their current projects.
Veronica is a biologist and printmaker who has developed an impressive archive
of prints reflecting her love of the natural world. They incorporate a variety
of technical approaches including linocut, woodcut and etching.
Andres Jaroslavsky is a music teacher and self-taught painter specialising in
portraiture who has had more than twelve solo exhibitions. Among his many local
commissions are paintings for York restaurants The Olive Tree, Il Paradiso del
Cibo and El Gaucho. In 2009, he was commisioned to paint the portrait of the
head boy and head girl of Pocklington School.
Corner Gallery is located on 9 Scarcroft Road (next to Melton’s Restaurant) and
opens its doors every Thursday, from 4 to 8 pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 10
am until 5 pm.
